W3. What is globalization?

what is globalization?
Kim Ji Young

1.Summary

Globalization is not simple. Globalization is ongoing and potential. Globalization contains Global governance, global citizenship, migration, and various global connections and topics. There are many ways to analyze globalization. We must provide as consistent a statement as possible to fully recognize the essential nature of the concept.

Velho argues that the world is in a different way when viewed from a global perspective by international scholars and scholars around the world. He argued that globalization took place among those who occupied the economic position and occupied the greatest weight among those who referred to the ultimate view of capitalism. The World Trade Organization (WTO) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) plenary session spread Glbc. As the protests against capitalism globalization grew rapidly, the movement itself was a part of globalization.

Since the early 1990s, more affluent countries have developed policies open markets, free trade, deregulation and privatization. However, multinational corporations advocating for neoliberal policies have become increasingly important in the global economic life. Multinational corporations have become 'mean' representatives of globalization. Many social elements were neglected as they focused on capital for capitalist globalization. It is not an approach to multidimensional things from the beginning, but an access to globalization only in the economic part. Unique social science and technology has developed, which has had a significant impact on the development of diverse social sciences. It has changed to more comprehensive observation of social diversity in globalization processes such as anthropology, political science, and international studies.

Many books and articles on globalization written by sociologists have stated that there are three important aspects. Economic politics and culture.
Richer told a lot about McDonald 's. He says McDonald's is a form of cultural globalization but has contributed a lot to globalization. Richeter was primarily interested in spreading to specific societies and other areas of the community in the United States. McDonald's, as well as Nike, Starbucks, Gap, KFC, and many of the economic practices spread by people in the United States has spread. However, it has been found that attempts to make goods or services relatively uniform around the world need to be adjusted for each country. The generalized mode of such adaptation can form a homogeneous form. The diffusion and social interaction in the globalization process has certainly played a pivotal role in the globalization process. Without participating in social interaction, it is impossible to imagine a connection. We are connected globally through cultural, social, political, and economic social interactions

To speak of globalization, there is a nation state, the simplicity, the concept of tangibility, the most common feature of global human life, the individual self, and finally, the nation state. In the process of the first globalization, we should attract the attention of the people including nationalism. Many contributors to the debate have argued that, from a variety of other perspectives, globalization is a process that is being challenged by nations. Second, the departure from the framework of international change can not be ruled out in the scope of global change except for personal life. Individualism isolates individuals and makes them behave more responsibly. World societies depend on individuals. Finally, we pay attention to the components of humanity. There are many elements in traditional human rights such as various categories of physical and mental disabilities, additional categories of gender, and enlargement rights for agriculture and the elderly.

2.New, interesting or unusual items I learned

The most interesting thing is that I have come to know the concept of glocalizaion. Glocalizaion is a concept of the scope of business research. This concept was about the relationship between the earth and the province. Is a combination of globalization and localization, which refers to the management techniques of a company that simultaneously conducts globalization and localization strategies. In other words, it refers to the management strategy to adapt to the local culture while satisfying the characteristics and desires of local customers while pursuing globalization. McDonald, a global brand, has introduced the concept of burgers that cut beef and pork in India, a Hindu state that is beefing up beef, and a marketing strategy to distinguish male and female seats in the Muslim country, Saudi Arabia. In Korea, it has come up with Western hamburgers and Bulgogi made from Korean traditional food, Bulgogi burger. It was interesting to know through the concept.

3. Discussion point

Globalization increases connectivity and forms a consensus. Multinational corporations are making good use of the characteristics of globalization, and they can save resources and labor by going abroad. It is also able to broaden the range of choices to consumers around the world, and to promote efficiencies and technological innovations by competing with companies around the world. What are the drawbacks of multinational corporations?

  2. Of course, there are advantages of multinational corporations, but there are downsides. Multinational corporations are fundamentally reducing hiring of their own jobs in its own country. Behind Trump's election, he tried to create jobs for his country's white workers. Also, multinational corporations focus solely on the economic interests of the companies, not for the economic growth of the country. This causes local businesses to shrink, resulting in destruction of natural environment by pollution. (Dong-June,Yoo)

  3. Multinational corporations have many advantages. Nevertheless, multinational corporations have negative impacts on both developed and developing countries. First, in developed countries, the number of manufacturing plants is reduced, which can reduce employment in the country. In developing countries, multinational corporations are accepted to acquire developed countries’ skills. While they can obtain various technologies, their market can be dominated by the growth of multinational corporations.
