W6. Cultural globalization / Mina Kim

  1. Summary

Globalization is defined as a process in which dimensions on the same line are intricately intertwined with one thing not focused. We have been living in a very developed life in a few years. Because this is the connectivity of globalization is increasing. Recognize the relative importance of each dimension to remember multidimensional complexity in the process of generalizing globalization. It is the economic capital of the global capitalist market. However, while world dominance in the capitalist system is inevitable, it refers to overcoming the temptation to regard capitalism as a causal advantage in the process of globalization.

Cultural significance and interpretation stimulate and orient individuals individually. Measures that can be practically useful depending on practical or economic needs are always in place. As for the inevitability of culture for globalization, understand how local actions cause globalization. Says ‘ Anthony Giddens ’. The cultural world said to increase the 'reflection' of modern life. It is the integration of the activities of social organizations that appear voluntarily to dominate our lives.

What is global culture? Globalization creates the effect of integration and creates a global culture. The world is also being integrated economically and politically. In the area of development research, opposition to cultural and social divisions should be eased. The 'Third World' does not have a globalized network in the same way as a globalized economy or an advanced country. But their national destiny is often influenced by the global economic system. In other words, cultural globalization means the spread of cultural imperialism across all western regions. For example, there are advances in symbolic brands like Disney, Coca-Cola and Marlboro. In the process of cultural analysis, Western companies have a profound cultural meaning. The connectivity of globalization leads to a more heterogeneous culture in closer contact.

What is eruption? Currently, society is showing the form of de-territorialization and fleeing nationalization. Originally, there was an implicit assumption that the culture was spatially defined reality and that it was in parallel with limited integration. However, it notes that the complex connectivity of globalization can undermine the concept of culture. It is because the polymorphism of the region not only hinders the union of meaning but also challenges the isolated idea that culture and stereotypes are originally paired. De-regionalization refers to connections to areas where everyday life is performed and experienced. In the long run, the weakening of traditional ties between cultural experience and geographical territory is the most extensive effect of cultural globalization. Decontamination is not simply a loss of local culture experience. The region also thrives in globalization. In other words, the momentary thinking about the place we live in maintains a high level of cultural uniqueness despite the forces of globalization. In this process, media and communication technologies are becoming more important.

Currently, the speed of electronic communication is getting faster and becoming a necessity in social life. Communication is also considered to be technological progress and value in terms of delivery speed. Adding innovation to the media agency's technology creates a sense of 'immediate' in modern global culture. In the media demands that politicians' discourse requires immediate response to all issues, political parties in the election period announce 'pre-emptive policy' and react immediately to political events.

Globalization may be the most important factor in creating and propagating cultural identity. Some people say that globalization threatens their identities, but in this process identity has suddenly turned out to be a fragile treasure that needs to be protected, protected and lost. This implies deterritorialization in globalization. Globalization also creates a flexible category of international affiliation without resorting to specific cultural traditions.

  1. Interesting points

For us, globalization is a very familiar concept. We live in globalization, and the notebooks, things, and cell phones we use are the result of globalization. However, this text also made me feel that globalization could bring about an unstable world. Obviously, in globalization, imperialist influences would have occurred, and a relationship of submission and domination would have been established. I had not seriously considered that the boundaries of culture were lost, that certain cultures were subordinate to other cultures and that they would disappear. But I have come to think again about the cultures that have disappeared, integrated and ignored in the process of globalization.

  1. Discussions

Globalization leads to progress in the world. But is the sacrifice of the Third World a necessary element in this process? Or for the common development of the world, what do you think about imperialist policies being implemented?
