W6. Cultural Globalization/ Seon yong il

Globalization is not a solitary word. Already in the word ' globalization ', all countries around the world are included. Also, things about politics, economics, society, and culture all over the world are on the rise. It is said that globalization is multi-dimensional. Because of this, globalization makes it complicated, causing problems. One of the most notable examples is that there is nothing that can be gained from ' cultural analyst '. It may sound paradoxical. It is certainly illogical to argue that globalization is related to culture, but that it can not be obtained from cultural analysts. However, there is a reason for making such claims. First of all, the unrealistic concept of economics. The economy is actually a part of the problem of eating, and it's not a matter of being able to approach it thoroughly, just like analysts. Second, the understanding of ' culture ' is distorted. It is difficult to establish causal relations, such as the question of ‘ chicken or egg ’. Answer me the question I threw. Is the culture of a certain country a globalized culture or a cultural characteristic of a country that has a common culture? It is still doubtful what the answer is.

Let's move on to the fundamental question. What is culture? In this report, ' Culture is what creates meaning in life. Throughout our lives, we become a customs, or act of meaning, and every word becomes culture. The report also points out the issue of globalization. Globalization says globalization does not succeed because it is a popular global currency and communications network. Perhaps it is because there is no standard for defining the word ' globalized '. Similar to this, there is a word ‘ global culture ’. Although this word is commonly used, it has clear limits. This is because it represents the culture begun in Western capitalism. It is thought to be related to linguistic problems, and English speaking culture is considered a globalized culture as English becomes a global language. Also, people often confuse ' Western culture goods' with ' Western culture ' itself. Marlboro cigarettes, McDonalds, and Coca Cola are products born in Western cultures, and they can not refer to western cultures as Western culture. There are many theories about the 9/11 terrorist attacks and various opinions, but there is one thing to check. No matter what the world is, whether it is a nation or a nation, there is no doubt that there is resentment against different cultures. Through these things we can identify. Globalization is not simply about forming a single culture ; it is necessarily accompanied by a clash of civilizations.
Zizek made an interesting claim to globalization. “At least in spite of global expansion, at least there are at least other places elsewhere.” I think it is an assertion that pays attention to the minority. Zizek can say that he is a man who cares about globalization in real terms. No matter how globalized globalization is, there is certainly a civilization that can not accept it. In this case, it should not be called 'globalization’. Maybe globalization is a problem that is never generalized and is a word. Modernized phenomenon is simply impossible to reconcile with a simple concept. Therefore, it is not necessary to give up research, but it needs a steady investigation. The association with local economies is also a big factor.

Zizek's argument deserves controversy for many people. The social problems that are determined through the ‘ Perfect Agreement ’ are not around us. It may be a kind of ' majority culture '. If the agreement is 100 %, the president election or any kind of majority, not to a minority opinion is disregarded. In this context, ' globalization ' should also be understood as ' globalized culture ' if it is a culture practiced in many countries. However, Zizek sided with the minority. But I think he is right. Since the realm of culture is the province of the country or its own humanity, it is impossible to decide. Nothing is ever right or wrong, nor can it be criticized. That is not to say that it is impossible to accept other cultures. This is a difference between compulsion and accepting. It is inherently different from being forced to acquiesce in unwanted culture and accepting other cultures as needed. One question arises here. “So, is globalization absolutely impossible?” My answer to this question is 'I don't know.' Any standards that can be accepted by everyone in the world are likely to be answered before they can be answered.

The report said that globalization does not threaten cultural identity. However, we have to worry about it enough. One must understand the meaning of the word identity itself. We use the word identity when we see a special character or persona that we can not find in others. But can everyone maintain the identity of the country where the culture began to share the same culture? At that time, the term " identity " would have lost its meaning.
