Q1. What are some of the major issues in world politics right now?
I think 'North Korea's nuclear issue is the major issue in world politics now. There is a lot of news about North Korea's nuclear issue. In particular, the North Korean nuclear issue has become more serious recently. I see a lot of efforts in every country to solve the problem. But the problem is still unresolved. The North Korean nuclear issue is an old chronic problem threatening the peace of the world as well as the Korean Peninsula. North Korea's nuclear weapons are very threatening and they break the peace of the world. Also, it is more dangerous because Seoul(Capital of South Korea) is close to the Military Demarcation Line and has more than 10 million people. It seems that North korea demonstrated the country's ability by conducting nuclear tests. Until now, South Korea tried to resolve the North Korean nuclear issue through negotiation and dialogue, but failed. It seems that negotiation and dialogue can not solve the problem. The reason why the North Korean nuclear issue is chronic is that it has been complacent with the simple prescription of negotiation and dialogue rather than the fundamental remedy through sanction and pressure. Depending on the situation, sanction and pressure can act more effectively than the negotiation and dialogue. I think the North Korean nuclear issue is a global issue that needs to be solved quickly. I hope North Korea stops its nuclear tests now. And I wish the world would become a peaceful community.

Q2. What other local adaptations of global culture can we think of?
If you want to know the definition of 'local adaptation', click here!
I think McDonald's global marketing strategy is a good example of cultural local adaptations. McDonald's is a successful company worldwide. The local adaptations of global culture played a major role in McDonald's global success. McDonald is universally loved by the world via feature menus suitable for each region. For example, there is 'Bulgogi burger' that combines bulgogi and burgers in Korea.
Here are another example.
- McPork(Japan): McPork is a burger for Japanese people who love pork.
- McRice(Taiwan): McRice is a burger for countries where rice is the staple food.
- McArabia(Egypt): McArabia is a burger that is tailored to the Arab people style.
- McKiwiburger(New Zealand): McKiwiburger is a burger for New Zealanders named 'Kiwi'.
- McTurco(Turkey): McTurco is a burger for the Turkish people who enjoy eating Kebob.
- McCurry Pan(India): McCurry is a burger for Indians who enjoy eating Curry.
- McNurnburger(Germany): McNurnburger is a burger for Germans who love sausage.
Such examples of McDonald are representative local adaptations of global food culture. I think local adaptation of global culture is an essential strategy for globalization and will greatly contribute to the development of culture. And it is necessary to succeed in any field in the age of globalization.

  1. McDonald`s global marketing strategies as an example of cultural local adaptations are very interesting. After seeing your blog, I thought the idea of George Ritcher`s McDonaldization. The practice of McDonaldization theory seems to be similar globally.
However, it is amazing that each country has adapted for its own characters.
Maybe, that seems to be the effect of cultural globalization.
